Dash Dot Architecture, London

15 Oct 2013

Dash Dot Architecture (DDA) are based in London and work on projects of a great variety including conversions, apartment blocks, new builds and even villas in Portugal and India. Their design and creations reflect luxurious environments and with great innovation. One of their projects includes Chester Lodge, Belgravia. The project was a complete gut out renovation and needed a completely new heating system.

The property is long and thin in structure, so it was important for DDA to utilise the limited space in the best possible way. The use of radiators was discarded due to the space taken up by them and costs involved. Warm water underfloor heating was not a viable option due to the joist direction being on the shortest length, and as a result the work involved for such property would be too great.

Electric underfloor heating was a great solution for this project as it was quick and easy to install under the various floor coverings with fast warm up times due to the heating mat being located directly underneath the final floor

The project consisted of the following materials:

  • Approximate Size of property: 80m 2
  • Electric Underfloor Heating Mats: 50.25m 2
  • Earthing mats: 4m 2
  • Digital Thermostats: 7
  • Palziv Insulation (For under Carpet & Wood): 80m 2
This project has been completed and Dash Dot Architectures creation were awarded "Best Conversion" by the Evening Standard "Homes & Property Awards 2007".
