Electric Underfloor Heating

Underfloor Heating Case Studies

Atsushi Kimura, Durham

Key Components: triple tube system and DIY underfloor heating installation.

Atsushi worked on a major refurbishment in 2007 on a 1960's semi detached house in Durham. His project involved removal of the existing flooring to the ground floor of his property and build an extension off the kitchen/diner. This type of project meant it would be the perfect opportunity to remove all the ground floor radiators and take advantage of the even heat and great aesthetics that underfloor heating would provide.

Atsushi used the Triple Tube system in his home and installed the kit himself. He commented:

Rayotec website gave me all the step by step installation and I have completed existing down stairs in 5 hours. Also managed to fix/add extension to living room using repair kit.

Having completed the install late 2007, we were able to get some feed back with how it was like living with underfloor heating especially through the cold bitter months.

I have been using underfloor heating over the winter. I have set to run 3hrs in the morning and 6hrs in the evening. The downstairs is so warm but upstairs, where we have conventional radiators, is very cold in comparison. It takes 2 hrs to warm up from stone cold.

We asked Atsushi why he chose to work with Rayotec over other suppliers and he wrote:

Rayotec system had a much better selection for options e.g. digital thermostat as standard and made the manifold for little extra cost. Had very good communication and friendly service.

Thank you Atsushi for your feedback!
