The Triple Tube
The triple tube is made from high quality thermoplastic rubber (Alfater XL90). It comprises of 3 tubes attached to one another providing an additional 30 -50% warm surface area when compared with single tube water underfloor heating systems. With the use of 3 tubes, the triple tube underfloor heating system adopts an advantage that no underfloor heating system has; the contra-flow principle.
With its high surface area, the triple tube underfloor heating can be laid in suspended, floating and retrofit floors without the use of expensive diffusion plates or dry screeds as needed in single tube systems. This in turn saves on time spent on installation and money

What is the Contra-Flow Principle?
The contra flow principle is the reverse flow of water in the 2 outer underfloor heating tubes to the centre tube, thus allowing hot water to flow in both directions. This procedure eliminates problems of hot spots and cold spots which is a major drawback of the single tube system.
As per the above diagram, users can benefit from mains pressured hot water and the ability to link solar to underfloor heating with the use of a Thermalstore cylinder. Please note that the Thermalstore is optional and the triple tube underfloor heating system can work directly from the boiler.
The Manifold
The underfloor heating manifold is the heart of the triple tube underfloor heating system and controls the temperature of the water going to each zone. It is manufactured from high quality materials and components. The manifold can be connected straight to a boiler or if the optional thermalstore cylinder is used, solar, geothermal, agas and wood-burning stoves.
The Thermostat
Rayotec supplies digital thermostats (with timers) in almost every room giving the end user a greater level of control. This extra control reduces running costs and also provides higher level of comfort. With the use of our digital thermostats warm up time will never be an issue; the desired temperature will be set at a specific time and the triple tube underfloor heating system will function to the set requirements. The thermostats are fully programmable and allow 7 day settings.
